Naturland

Naturland

Naturland is one of the major international associations for organic agriculture worldwide. Along with 70,000 farmers, beekeepers, fish farmers and fishers in 60 countries throughout the world, Naturland is a living proof that organic, social and fair economic activity can only thrive in international co-operation. Besides agriculture and food production, Naturland is also involved in the areas of ecological forest use, textile production and cosmetics. Naturland fair trade standards offer a further possibility for added value. The Naturland Fair certification is a one-stop certification of organic, social and fair trade standards.

Benefit to customer

Naturland processors and farmers work according to the highest organic standards. Naturland is one of the largest organic farming associations in Germany. Naturland processors work on the basis of organic standards which go beyond the requirements of the German “Bio-Siegel” (German national ecolabel) and are equivalent to the Bio Suisse Standards in Switzerland. Social standards are an integral part of the Naturland certification, certification increases market access opportunities. Naturland certification standards range from organic plant and animal production, aquaculture, sustainable capture fishery and processing to non-food areas like forest management, cosmetics and textiles.

Principles

Naturland’s standards existed long before the first EU regulations on organic agriculture became law, and also cover areas not yet governed by the EC organic regulation.
